Like in the biblical days, the people of Mengom are determined, more than ever before, despite the distraction from some external elites of the area, to reach the promised land- the New Layout of Mengom.

You see them come out every Monday, fathers, mothers and children alike, to dig the road manually, from the giant bridge the Lord Mayor of Andek Council, Mr. Ubangoh Helly, just constructed over River Ekeh in Esaw, towards the Mengom New Layout.

People from the villages of Esaw, Bassic, Nkon, Abichia and Echia come out in their numbers to participate in the community work, which has been initiated by the people themselves, in support of the vision of the Andek Council, to give the people a better living condition.

The Lord Mayor of Andek council is determined to accompany the people of Mengom, through the provision of essential facilities on the site, until this project of relocation is fully realized.
