ÀNDEK COUNCIL IS AMONG 15 OUT OF 35 COUNCILS THAT HAVE QUALIFIED IN FIRST PHASE OF THE PROLOG COMPETITION.
It started like a joke but it is now true that PROLOG has come to boost the development of the NW Region.
Thanks to the proactivity of Lord Mayor Ubangoh, ÀNDEK has qualified.
The first funding is 24,000,000F. And shall systematically increase as the population shall show active participation in the program.
PROLOG is a World Bank sponsored project, covering the six crisis Regions of Cameroon, with a financing amount of 189 billion FCFA and shall last until 2027.
The World Bank identified the potential importance of decentralization and participative local governance to contribute in the conception and to the development of more inclusive public policies which will go a long way to improve the sense of inclusion of the local communities thus contributing to a progressive reparation of the social contract.
The objective of the project is to increase community access to climate-resilient infrastructures and strengthen local capacity to effectively manage resources and provide services.
The specific objectives of the project are:
– Strengthen community participation in planning and local governance
– Provide essential climate-resilient community infrastructures, and
– Strengthen the decentralization process and develop the capacity of decentralized local authorities to manage resources and implement public investments.
The project shall be based on the bottom-top approach. The only window for projects and suggestions shall be through the Neighborhood/Village Committees, which have just been formed
