THE LORD MAYOR OF ANDEK COUNCIL ON 3rd JAN. 2025 DISTRIBUTED FREE BIRTH CERTIFICATES TO SOME VULNERABLE CHILDREN IN ANDEK MUNICIPALITY.
It was all smiles on the faces of some vulnerable children drawn from some communities of ANDEK municipality as they received their Free birth certificates issued by the Mayor of Andek council, Mr. Ubangoh Helly, following declaratory court judgments that were sponsored by the Andek Council.
This exercise was meant to assist these vulnerable children to register for the Common Entrance and the First School leaving certificate Examinations.
While symbolically handing over the the first certificate, the Divisional Office for Ngie Subdivision, Mr. Oteh Philip Bache, explained to the kids that a person without a birth certificate, in principle, does not exist. He encouraged the children to be ambassadors for the propagation of the FREE birth certificates campaign launched by ÀNDEK council, to achieve a ONE CHILD, ONE BIRTH CERTIFICATE vision of the state of Cameroon.
The principal of GSS Tinechung, Mr. NJEI Joshua, encouraged the prospective college students to register to attend secondary schools in Ngie next year, as a means to lessen the financial burden on their parents.
The Inspector of Basic education for Ngie, Mr. Ngong John, thanked the Lord Mayor Ubangoh Helly for the wonderful initiative, which is not happening for the first time, and encouraged him to extend his largesse to other communities of the municipality.
